Ammonia Cracking Hydrogen Generators are Catalytic cracking units in which Ammonia (NH3) is disassociated to Hydrogen and Nitrogen Gas.
2NH3 = 3H2 + N2
Refrigeration grade Ammonia is from Cylinder or Storage Tank is used as feed. The Product Gas has 75% Hydrogen and 25% Nitrogen; this gas is further purified in a Molecular Sieves unit by removing un-cracked Ammonia and moisture.

Low Operating Cost:

This is very Low Investment in such Hydrogen Gas. Additionally, as very little electrical Power or LPG gas required for its operating, the cost of Hydrogen produced is also very low. Both of these factors allow the user to recover the investment cost on AVS Ammonia cracker very quickly AVS incorporates the use of skids and designing, these plants in compact and modular. This feature allows easy transportation and easy installation of the systems at your site. Our Erection Engineer is present at site to oversee installation and also assist with commissioning and training of your personnel. ►Flow Range

We have designed this Ammonia cracker with a purifier unit for a wider flow of ammonia gas. The flow starts from 1 nm3/hr to 1000 nm3/hr with small compact systems to very high cracked gas flow rates in a single furnace as high at high requirements.

►Cracked Gas Purity

These custom-designed systems are tailored to your gas purity customer's requirement. The composition cracked gas mixture is in a proportion of 75% H2: 25% N2. We can harmonize the cracked gas mix with varying hydrogen and nitrogen percentages required in the processing. Uncracked ammonia gas concentration can also be tempered from 100 ppm down to 1 ppm depending on the customer’s requirements and affordability.

►Hydrogen – High Purity

If the customer requires high purity Hydrogen gas, let it be 99%, we offer an edulcoration unit downstream of the cracker furnace which removes the excess Nitrogen gas and uncracked ammonia gas. With this option, the customer gets high-purity Hydrogen gas and the remaining gases as by-products.

►Dew Point

The Dew point of this gas is (-) 80°C. We also deliver the instrument for the detection of the gas dew point. 

►Pressure

Cracked gases such as nitrogen and hydrogen gas can be delivered to the customer’s process or storage tanks at a pressure as high as 7 kg/cm2g without the need for a booster shot compressor. We can also offer an additional booster if the customer needs cracked gas at a higher pressure as per customer preferences.

►How It Works

Ammonia Cracking Hydrogen Gas Generators are Catalytic cracking apparatuses in which Ammonia gas (NH3) is disassociated with Hydrogen gas and Nitrogen gas which is collected in the cylinders for further use.

Reaction Involved:
2NH3 = 3H2 + N2

This ammonia gas is used in refrigeration which eliminates the hydrogen and nitrogen gas which is further used according to requirements in industrial uses.  The composition of nitrogen to oxygen is 75% to 25% respectively. The gas can be further purified in a Molecular Sieves unit by eliminating uncracked Ammonia and moisture, required by customers during the processing.
